Steve remembers Andrew’s hard work and high spirits on the basketball court and looks forward to the new successes that will unfold as Andrew matures in college and beyond.
As a junior on the basketball team, Andrew Baxter was aware that he was not going to play much so he resolved that he wished to be the best teammate on the basketball bench. He did this by encouraging the whole bench to completely support the players and be cheerleaders for them. He encouraged all the bench to "go crazy" for the guys playing. It made a huge difference in the team spirit and most likely helped the fact that the basketball team made it to the basketball playoffs for the first time in many years.

Brennan Baxter, Andrew Baxter’s older brother, was also a successful basketball player. Steve cherished Brennan’s success equally well and has had many enjoyable moments watching both of his sons’ successes on and off the Pearce High School basketball court.
Andrew Baxter enjoys the new challenges of college courses. He loves meeting students from other states. But most of all he loves the Christian fellowship of being part of Brothers Under Christ - a unique organization of Christians at Texas Tech who choose to enlarge their faith as they go to college.
